Woman killed, 5 hurt in downtown Las Vegas crash

A Las Vegas woman was killed and five people injured when two vehicles collided early Sunday in downtown Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

A car headed south on Main Street and a small SUV headed west on Bonanza Road collided at the intersection about 1 a.m. when one of the vehicles ran a red light, police said.

Police did not say which vehicle ran the light and noted that the crash and determination of fault remained under investigation. Neither driver showed any signs of impairment, police said.

The driver of the SUV, Marie Reber, 52, was taken to University Medical Center, where she died of her injuries, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 48-year-old Las Vegas man, suffered serious injures, and four passengers in the car suffered minor injuries, police said.
