North Las Vegas Police are investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man around 4:45 p.m. Monday in the area of East Lake Mead Boulevard and McDaniel Street.
The victim and suspect had a verbal altercation before the shooting occurred, police said. Medical officials pronounced the man dead at the scene of the incident.
The suspect fled prior to police arriving. Detectives, who are still determining a motive, say it was not a random act of violence.
The Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim.
