A Clark County District Court judge was arrested Saturday night on a domestic battery count after she was accused of hitting her adult son, according to Las Vegas Municipal Court records and Metro Police.

The alleged incident involving Judge Stefany Miley occurred about 9:40 p.m. at a home near the 215 Beltway and Sahara Avenue, Metro Officer Aden OcampoGomez said.

An argument led to the alleged battery, OcampoGomez said.

Miley was booked at the City of Las Vegas Detention Center on a misdemeanor count of battery/domestic violence, court records show.

Miley posted a $3,115 bail early Sunday, court records show.

Miley, whose case was filed using her maiden name, Stefany Tewell, is being represented by Las Vegas attorney David Chesnoff.

In an email statement, Chesnoff said, “We are pleased to be assisting Judge Miley who intends on vigorously defending against these mere allegations.”

District Court spokeswoman Mary Ann Price said there would be no comment from the court.

Miley was elected to the Eighth Judicial District Court in 2004 and won re-election in 2014, according to her campaign’s website.

She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 22, records show.
