Three days after a victim was found fatally stabbed on an east valley street, a man walked into the Clark County Detention Center and said he’d killed the homeless man, according to Metro Police.

Jarrid Johnson, 25, on Monday was arrested on one count of murder with a deadly weapon, police said.

He’s being held without bond at the Clark County Detention Center, where he surrendered.

After Johnson confessed to a corrections officer about 9 a.m., homicide detectives linked him to the homicide scene where a person walking a dog Friday morning came upon a man’s body.

Officers responded about 6:45 a.m. to the area of Flamingo Road and Pinecrest Street, where medics declared the victim dead, police said.

The victim, who was believed to be homeless and had been killed overnight, hadn’t been publicly identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as of Wednesday afternoon.

A report detailing Johnson’s arrest wasn’t available Wednesday.
