Brian Greenspun’s Jan. 28 column regarding the apparent wisdom of the recent shutdown of the federal government is another example of Democrats attempting to cast something negative in a favorable light.
All of our members of Congress are elected to represent the interests of citizens and legal residents of the United States.
When limited resources mean not everyone can be helped and hard decisions must be made, it is the aforementioned group that should benefit and not persons without any legal standing.
How does forcing the debate on “Dreamers” by depriving citizens of government services fulfill this obligation?
Let us not focus so much on the so-called “Dreamers” (we are all dreamers), unproven Russian collusion conspiracies and exhortations to “impeach 45,” but instead roll up our sleeves, get to work and strike a deal.
