Video: Man sought in attempted kidnapping of 2 young girls

A suspect on Tuesday night tried to snatch two little girls in different east valley neighborhoods before being spooked away by a family member and good Samaritans, according to Metro Police.

That suspect, described as a white or Hispanic man — roughly 18 to 20 years old — is being sought, said police, who this afternoon released a short video that purportedly shows the man’s red car.

The first incident was reported at 6:41 p.m. in the 2700 block of Marlin Avenue, near Eastern Avenue and U.S. 95, police said. There he tried to pull a 6-year-old girl into a car but released her when he was confronted by neighbors.

About eight minutes later — and less than 2 miles northeast — the man tried to snatch a 7-year-old girl who was playing in a playground in the 3700 block of East Bonanza Road, police said. He let her go when he was confronted by the child's family member.

The suspect was further described as having a medium-build body with a tattoo on the right side of his neck, police said. He wore a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and gray Nike sneakers.

He was driving a red four-door sedan with silver trim around the windows.
