Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (29) makes a save during the second period in Game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final at T-Mobile Arena Thursday, June 7, 2018.

The Vegas Golden Knights’ long trademark battle with the U.S. Army has finally come to an end, the team announced today.

Team Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bill Foley announced that the sides entered into a trademark coexistence agreement regarding usage of the ‘Golden Knights’ mark and name.

The Army will continue using the name Golden Knights and variations of it in connection with its parachute exhibition team.

“We are pleased that we have agreed to coexist regarding the use of the ‘Golden Knights’ mark and name,” Foley said in a statement. “Our discussions with the Army were collaborative and productive throughout this entire process. We are appreciative of their efforts and commitment to reaching an amicable resolution.”

The Army had filed a trademark oppositions against the team’s two trademark applications — Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Golden Knights.
