A 59-year-old motorist was killed this morning when another vehicle ran a red light and collided with the pickup truck he was driving in the northeast valley, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 7:50 a.m. at Lake Mead Boulevard and Mt. Hood Street, police said. A Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck headed west on Lake Mead ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Tacoma pickup, which was southbound on Mt. Hood, police said.
