In response to Brian Greenspun’s June 3 column “We must restore checks and balances,” I can’t believe you think all these problems we are having today are because of one man, President Donald Trump.
Years ago, a guy named Johnson opened the lock box on Social Security and today, seniors can’t even get a raise in Social Security. Meanwhile, politicians in Washington do nothing and act as if nothing is wrong.
Also years ago, we established the great welfare giveaway — free money for not working.
And what about Planned Parenthood? Billions of wasted dollars, millions of lives wasted.
I can go on and on about the waste in government, foreign aid, immigration and education, and you write about checks and balances like it’s something new since Trump took office.
