Returning Las Vegas resident headliner Barry Manilow has come down with a bronchial infection, forcing him to cancel his grand opening weekend of sold-out shows June 14-17 at the International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas.

"Manilow Las Vegas: The Hits Come Home!" began its preview shows over Memorial Day weekend and the opening shows had been scheduled to coincide with the singer's 75th birthday on Sunday.

"I can't believe this is happening," Manilow said in a statement. "Our new show is ready, we're all ready, and we were looking forward to tonight."

Manilow is expected to return to the stage on June 21. Full refunds or ticket exchanges for future dates at Westgate will be issued and ticket holders can also attend a free performance of "Soundtrack," starring Clint Holmes and Earl Turner, at the International Theater Thursday through Saturday.
