I saw a picture of President Donald Trump, hand over heart in front of military personnel singing the national anthem after the Philadelphia Eagles snubbed him, and I thought to myself, “Yeah, let’s get a picture of Trump back in the ’60s, when he was hiding behind his father’s wallet dodging the draft as Sen. John McCain and thousands of other patriotic men were fighting a war in Vietnam.”
That is what true Americans do — not run and hide during the war, then run their mouths about being patriotic. I may not totally agree with the football stars taking a knee, but they are right in the injustice that Trump is creating.
