An infant was critically injured this afternoon in a northwest valley crash, according to Metro Police.
Officers and medics responded to the crash about 3:45 p.m. at Brent Lane and El Capitan Way, Lt. Ken Romane said.
The 1-year-old child was transported to Centennial Hills Hospital, but then sent to University Medical Center.
The vehicle the child was in was struck head on onto its side, Romane said.
The road was closed until about 7 p.m., Romane said. Further details were not immediately available.
