Charleston Boulevard will be closed to traffic near downtown for a pair of nights this week.
Between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. today and Wednesday, motorists will be prohibited from traveling in both directions on Charleston Boulevard at Interstate 15 as work crews construct a new bridge, the Nevada Department of Transportation said in a statement.
Construction crews will place nine bridge girders tonight, each stretching 115 feet and weighing 160,000 pounds.
The bridge is part of “The Main Event” portion of Project Neon, the nearly $1 billon, 4-mile-long widening of I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl to Sahara Avenue.
About 70 percent complete, Project Neon is scheduled to wrap up next summer.
