Police: Man arrested in fatal stabbing in parking lot

Metro Police say they have arrested a man in a fatal stabbing Sunday night in a parking lot near Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue.

Michael Cain, 32, was taken into custody about 4 p.m. Monday by detectives who were in the area doing follow-up work on the case, police said. He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he faces a count of murder, police said.

The stabbing, which was captured on surveillance video, happened about 11:44 p.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Maryland Parkway, police said.

The victim was walking north on Maryland and the suspect was walking parallel to him in the parking lot as they appeared to argue, police said. The victim was stabbed multiple times after the men got into a fight, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
