Firefighters are expected to fully contain a small wildfire in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management says the 91-acre fire is smoldering in grass, shrubs and pinon pine.

About 50 firefighters are working Saturday to mop up hot spots.

A 13-mile scenic drive through the conservation remains open. But federal officials say the Pine Creek parking lot and nearby trails are closed.

Officials say the fire was human-caused but haven't determined an exact origin.

The conservation area is about 25 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. It gets about two million visitors a year.

Fire restrictions in place throughout southern Nevada prohibit campfires, charcoal stoves and explosives.
