Truck fire on U.S. 95 causes heavy smoke, closes freeway

A truck fire on northbound U.S. 95 between Boulder Highway and Charleston Boulevard this morning caused heavy smoke and closed the freeway, according to fire department and transportation officials.

Firefighters were on their way, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials said via Twitter just after 10 a.m.

The freeway was closed in the area, according to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.
