Garbage truck fire spreads to house, does $100,000 damage

Embers from a garbage truck fire this morning ignited the roof of a south valley house, causing about $100,000 in damage, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Firefighters responded about 1:10 p.m. to Singing Tree Street, near Gillespie Street and Warm Springs Road, where they found the contents of the truck on fire and the roof of a two-story house in flames, officials said.

The embers from the fire in the truck spread to nearby brush and the house, officials said. No one was injured.
