NLV Police: 1 man killed, 1 wounded in shootout

A shootout between two men in North Las Vegas left one dead and the other hospitalized, according to police.

Officers responded about 12:20 a.m. today to the 600 block of Rubber Tree Avenue, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Gowan Road, where they found a man on a driveway, North Las Vegas Police said. The man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man’s name was not released, pending notification of his family.

Later, a 24-year-old man was located and taken to University Medical Center with survivable injuries, police said.

No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Few details were provided, but police said a confrontation escalated to gunfire.
