A woman suspected of driving under the influence sideswiped a Nevada Highway Patrol vehicle early this morning, authorities said.

The driver, Lanita Janae Williams, 30, who was not hurt and stayed at the scene, failed sobriety tests, the patrol said.

Williams was booked at the Las Vegas City Jail on counts of DUI, disobeying a restricted access area, unsafe lane change and failure to update address on registration, the patrol said.

The trooper, who was driving a marked SUV, was not injured, officials said.

The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. on the on-ramp from northbound U.S. 95 to northbound Interstate 15, the patrol said.

The patrol vehicle was getting on I-15 when a Dodge Charger made an unsafe lane change, crossing solid white highway lines and striking the SUV, the patrol said.
