The Clark County school year ends in the third week in May.
What has been accomplished this year? There is teacher unrest due to the failure of the school district to honor the arbitration ruling in their favor — no raises for seven-plus years, a health trust in shambles, a search for a new school superintendent. Morale is at an all-time low and will continue to be this way due to the lack of respect for the teachers.
Is it any wonder that more than 700 teachers and special-needs personal will be leaving?
The Clark County School District continues to be at the low end of education and nothing will change until people are paid as professionals and not as the hired help.
