Police: Suspects in Henderson store robbery beat elderly clerk

Henderson Police are searching for two suspects in a violent robbery at a convenience store early this morning in which an elderly clerk was punched into unconsciousness.

The robbery occurred about 2:30 a.m. at Terrible Herbst on 360 N. Boulder Highway, near Water Street, police said. One suspect forced the 67-year-old clerk to the back of the store while the other stole cigarettes.

The first suspect then took the clerk back to the front area and took cash from a register before punching her in the face, police said.

Medics transported the victim to St. Rose Hospital-Siena Campus, where she was treated for injuries not deemed life-threatening, police said.

Police, who released surveillance images, also described the suspects.

One suspect is a black man in his 20s and stands between 6 feet, and 6 feet, 3 inches, police said. He wore a black or navy blue baseball cap with “NY” engraved in white lettering, a two-tone gray and black zip sweater, black pants and black shoes. He had facial hair.

The other suspect is a white man in his early 20s who stands about 5 feet, 8 inches, police said. He wore a green T-shirt, tan pants and white shoes. He had dark blonde hair, which is braided at the top and which he tied into a small ponytail.
