Fire forces 3 adults, 6 children from home

Nine people, including six children, were forced from their home after a fire early today at an apartment complex in the northeast valley, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Nobody was injured, officials said.

The fire was reported about 6:10 a.m. in the 3500 block of Algiers Drive, near Nellis Air Force Base, where smoke and flames were coming from the second story of a building, officials said. The fire was mainly out by 6:22 a.m., officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. It was not known if the people displaced were from more than one apartment, officials said.

No damage estimate was immediately available.

Firefighters from the county, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas responded.
