A speeding car crashed into an unoccupied pickup truck this morning in North Las Vegas, killing the driver and critically injuring his passenger, according to police.
A silver Honda sedan was eastbound about 5:30 a.m. in a neighborhood in the 3200 block of East Tonopah Avenue, near Lake Mead Boulevard, when it crashed into the truck, North Las Vegas Police said.
The 29-year-old man behind the wheel died at the scene, and his passenger, a 26-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Detectives are still investigating but have stated speed was “a major factor in this crash,” police said in a statement.
