So, Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., can save us from Yucca Mountain. Who knew?
After opening his May 21 column (“Nuclear waste in Nevada? Not on my watch”) with an unnecessary comment about the Sun’s publisher, he goes on to explain how we need not worry about funding for construction of a nuclear waste dump at Yucca Mountain.
Fellow Nevadans, we are in great hands! Our senator, who couldn’t decide whether he was for or against repealing the Affordable Care Act, now asks us to just trust him. What happens when President Donald Trump and other senators put pressure on him (like they did previously) to just go along to get along.
When the going gets tough for him, can we really trust that this flip-flopper can stand up to those who will promise to get him re-elected?
We all know Sen. Harry Reid and his work to stop Yucca Mountain, and you Sen. Heller, are no Harry Reid.
