Sagan Gronauer passed for 250 yards and three touchdowns tonight for the Faith Lutheran High football team in a 41-20 Mountain Region quarterfinal playoff win against visiting Legacy.

Faith Lutheran held Legacy scoreless in the first half.

“One of the things you have to do against Legacy is neutralize the run because they are usually a strong running team,” Faith Lutheran coach Vernon Fox said.

Gronauer opened the scoring with a short touchdown run and then hooked up with Noah Vernon for an 86-yard scoring strike. Keegan Bunn and Greg Oliver also had touchdown receptions.

Jayson Strimling and Kendall Lightfoot added touchdown runs for the Crusaders, which have won a playoff game in each of the six seasons Fox has been at the helm of the program.

Evan Olaes had two late touchdown runs for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran plays at Canyon Springs in next week’s semifinals.
