The Nation's Weather for Friday, November 9, 2018

A double-barreled storm will affect areas from the Great

Lakes to the Northeast, Southeast and South Central states

today. Snow will fall on and accumulate over the Upper

Midwest. All or mostly rain is in the offing for the

Northeast. A swath of showers and heavier thunderstorms is

in store for the Southeast, while rain is expected to soak

much of the area from South Texas to southern Louisiana. A

significant blast of cold air will follow the storm over the

Plains with some of the lowest temperatures of the season so

far. In contrast, most areas west of the Rockies can expect

dry and warm conditions. Strong winds will raise the risk of

wildfires over coastal Southern California. Some rain

showers are likely to dampen parts of Washington, Idaho and

western Montana.
