In 2016, Donald Trump told his supporters “We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning.” What many Americans did not realize was that with his narcissistic disorder, Trump was talking about himself and winning at all cost by feeding off one of the symptoms of narcissism — the sense of entitlement.
On Tuesday, America rejected Trump’s dishonesty, xenophobia, misogyny and racism. Instead, we chose to embrace the virtues that made this country great-— honesty, civility, honor and integrity — and in doing so, voted out the Republican enablers of Trump. These enablers were fools, for as Nelson Mandela once said, “Fools multiply when wise men are silent.”
Yes, Trump and his enablers lost and America won. And that’s the way it should be when Americans stand up for principles that have stood the test of time and made this nation the greatest democracy on earth.
