Video: Metro searching for suspects in fatal shooting outside central Vegas store

Metro Police today released surveillance footage of a deadly confrontation outside a central valley convenience store that stemmed from a road rage incident over jaywalking Monday night.

A motorist fatally wounded when one of two suspects opened fire has been identified as Anthony James Blount, 41, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Using the video, detectives are trying to track down two young men suspected in the slaying. Both were described as black men between the ages of 18 and 22, and both stand between 5 feet, 6 inches, and 5 feet, 8 inches, police said.

One wore a grey sweatshirt and black pants while the other wore a black jacket over a white T-shirt.

Officers responded to the shooting at about 8:10 p.m. in the 1100 block of East Bonanza Road, near Maryland Parkway, police said. A gravely injured Blount was rushed to University Medical Center where he died shortly after from a gunshot wound to the chest.

An investigation determined that Blount and another man were driving south on Maryland Parkway, approaching a green light on Bonanza, when they encountered the two suspects jaywalking.

Blount, who was driving, slowed down and verbally confronted the pedestrians, police said. The men then walked to a nearby convenience store, and Blount pulled in to confront them again, police said. A fistfight ensued.

The video shows a fistfight between the two suspects and a man. As another man jumps in to help, one of the suspects pulls out a gun. Metro edited out the shooting.
