Weekend Rewind: Terry Fator, Pauly Shore, Diana Ross and more

Terry Fator

Terry Fator has a new addition to his act.

Thanksgiving weekend in Las Vegas was dominated by Vegas Golden Knights success. Two huge victories at home at T-Mobile Arena against Calgary Friday and San Jose Saturday, eight goals scored and two shutouts for Marc-André Fleury—now that’s how you start the holiday season. The team recently announced plans for the 2019 Knight To Remember Gala to benefit the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, set for January 17 at downtown’s World Market Center Pavilions in Symphony Park. In what is sure to be one of the most popular social events of the season, players, coaches and front office staff will attend and each player will be paired with a local chef to prepare a dish for guests to sample. The gala will also include a silent and live auction featuring hockey experiences, travel packages and more. Tickets start at $500. For more information, visit the team’s website here.

Mirage headliner Terry Fator also kicked off the Vegas holiday season with the debut of this year’s “Very Terry Christmas” show, continuing through December 25, and as promised, the singer-comedian-ventriloquist added a new character to the act. An adorable Justin Bieber puppet “sings” his hit “Love Yourself” and debates with the angel and devil on his puppet shoulders, portrayed respectively by Dolly Parton and Ozzy Osbourne mini-puppets. Expect it to become a new favorite segment of Fator’s routine, which is moving into its 10th year at the Mirage.

Grammy Award-nominated musician Anderson .Paak was spotted hanging at a VIP table at Tao Nightclub at the Venetian Saturday as his friend DJ Justin Credible controlled the club from the booth. The rapper, singer, drummer and producer just released his third studio album “Oxnard” to great critical and commercial acclaim.

Comedian and actor Pauly Shore was so impressed with the trio of female acrobats known as the Silicon Valley Girls from Saturday night’s presentation of “Absinthe,” he blasted a video out via Instagram: “Amazing show tonight in Las Vegas … check out these girls, they’re quite extraordinary.” Of course, Shore went backstage after the show for a photo with The Gazillionaire.

The great Diana Ross has scheduled more concerts at Encore Theater in 2019 but she’s revamping her show. In celebration of her 75th birthday in March, the all-new production will be dubbed “Diamond Diana” for her fourth engagement at the intimate Wynn Las Vegas venue with shows scheduled for February 6, 8, 9, 13, 16, 17, 20, 22 and 23. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 30.

The Alexis Park Resort, just off the Strip on Harmon Avenue, has reopened its Pegasus Showroom to launch two new shows produced by Admit VIP, which also operates the Night Owl Showroom at the Hooters Casino on Trop. “The Comics Battle” opens November 29 and will run Thursday through Sunday at 9 p.m., a “battle of the wits” comedy show hosted by John Hilder. “Martinis & Magic” starring Naathan Phan opens December 2 and runs Sunday through Thursday at 7 p.m. Phan does it all from magic to comedy to singing to impressions.
