A man accused of shooting into a car and wounding a 7-year-old girl earlier this year has been arrested in California, according to Metro Police.

Two days after the Sept. 12 shooting in a parking lot near Tropicana Avenue and Spencer Street, police identified Curtis Truman, 23, as the suspect.

He was taken into custody Wednesday in Victorville, Calif., police said. An anonymous tip led authorities to his whereabouts, police said.

Truman was wanted on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle and carrying a handgun without a permit, Las Vegas Justice Court records show.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on Sept. 14.

Officers in the area of the shooting found a car with the shooting victim in it, police said. The child was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives determined the car, occupied by two adults and two children, was pulling out of a business when the driver got into an argument two men standing behind the vehicle, police said.

One of the men pulled out a gun and fired several rounds into the car before the pair fled on foot, police said.
