Metro Police say they are investigating the death of a 1-year-old boy this morning at an apartment complex near Swenson Street and Twain Avenue.
The cause of death has not been determined, but Metro routinely investigates child deaths, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched about 9:20 a.m. to the Pinewood Crossing Apartments, 764 Twain Ave., Officer Larry Hadfield said.
The child suffered unknown distress and was declared dead at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Hadfield said.
A portion of the apartment complex remained taped off early this afternoon as two patrol officers kept watch outside.
Further details were not provided.
