Fans of the Golden Knights have jumped at the chance to represent the team on their vehicles.

In the first week of sales, 4,517 “Vegas Born” specialty license plates were sold, according to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles.

“The plate has been extraordinarily popular,” said Kevin Malone, DMV spokesperson.

Of those transactions, about 1,500 plates with standard numbering were sold over the counter at DMV locations and about 3,000 orders for personalized plates were placed online. All personalized plates are subject to review before being produced.

In comparison, the Nevada 150th Anniversary specialty plate sold 475 plates in its first week sold in 2013.

The black plates have the team’s primary logo on the left and “Vegas Born” at the bottom surrounded by the Knights’ secondary logo on each side. Plates have the stacked letters GK followed by the plate number.

The Vegas Born plate costs $37 plus a $6 transfer fee for standard plates. Personalized plates can be ordered through the DMV website and cost $72.

A Raiders-branded specialty plate is being developed and is planned to be offered ahead of the team’s 2020 kickoff in Las Vegas.
