Police searching for driver in fatal central Las Vegas hit-and-run

A 60-year-old woman walking alongside her husband this morning near a central valley neighborhood was fatally injured when a SUV driven by a hit-and-run motorist slammed into her, according to Metro Police.

Investigators are searching for the driver of a black Dodge Durango, which didn't stop and sped away after the 9:25 a.m. crash near St. Louis Avenue and 6th Street, police said.

The Durango was manufactured between 1997 and 2003, police estimated.

The unidentified woman and her husband were heading east near the sidewalk on St. Louis, when the SUV, struck the woman from behind, police said in a release.
