Man, 32, critically injured when car crashes in yard

A 32-year-old Seattle man was critically injured today when the car he was driving went out of control and crashed in the front yard of a house, according to Metro Police.

The man, who was driving by himself in a 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT, was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash was reported about 12:30 a.m. near Robindale Road and Rancho Destino Road, police said.

The car was headed east when it went out of control and ran off the road, police said. It then crossed back over the road before smashing into wood and brick pillars in a front yard on Rancho Destino, police said.

The crash threw debris into the house, breaking windows and damaging the exterior, police said. One of the pillars also hit an unoccupied vehicle, police said.
