UNLV guard Jordan Johnson (24) goes up for a shot between UNR forward Caleb Martin (10) and forward Cody Martin (11) during a game at the Thomas & Mack Center Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018.

RENO — UNR is ranked seventh in The Associated Press Top 25 preseason college basketball poll.

It's the Wolf Pack's highest AP ranking in school history.

It's due in large part to the fact the Martin twins, Caleb and Cody, and Jordan Caroline all decided to forgo a shot at the NBA draft to return for their senior season after last year's NCAA Sweet 16 run.

Kansas leads the preseason poll announced Monday. Kentucky is second, followed by No. 3 Gonzaga, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Virginia and Tennessee sixth.

After UNR at No. 7, North Carolina, Villanova and Michigan State round out the Top 10.

The Atlantic Coast Conference has seven ranked teams, the most for any conference. The Southeastern Conference has five teams in the poll.
