A blaze to a central valley house caused by an unattended cooking device this afternoon caused about $75,000 in damage, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue.
No one was injured and the Southern Nevada chapter of the American Red Cross was assisting two adults and a teenager, officials said.
Crews responded about 12:10 p.m. to Tanya Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and U.S. 95, officials said. The flames destroyed a kitchen, and the roof and attic of the one-story house were damaged.
Officials said that a cooking device left on a counter while no one was home sparked the fire.
