Firefighters put out blaze at southeast valley apartment complex

Firefighters quickly put out a blaze at a two-story apartment building late this morning in the southeast valley, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Nobody was injured, officials said.

The fire was reported at 11:53 a.m. at an apartment complex at 10115 Jeffreys St. Heavy flames and smoke were coming from the building, and more units were requested, officials said.

Crews had most of the fire out by 12:08 p.m., officials said. “Due to the speed in suppressing the fire, the incident commander was able to cancel the request for the second-alarm units prior to them arriving on scene,” the Fire Department said in a statement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said. Damage had not yet been assessed, officials said.
