The Nevada Department of Transportation is installing Active Traffic Management signs as part of Project Neon, as shown in this rendering.

A portion of northbound Interstate 15 in the resort corridor is set to be shuttered overnight for the second time in the last month.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will close northbound I-15 between Spring Mountain Road and Sahara Avenue from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

The temporary closures are needed to install overhead Active Traffic Management signs as part of “The Main Event,” the third and final phase of work for Project Neon, the nearly $1 billion, 4-mile-long widening of I-15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue.

The westbound and eastbound Spring Mountain onramps to I-15 northbound and the Flamingo Road onramp to I-15 northbound will also be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.

The department urges motorists to use the Waze app or take alternate routes, including U.S. 95 and the 215 Beltway during the closure.
