Attorney General Jeff Sessions said if people come to our border, children will be separated from their families. But immigrants did not get that memo.
People are fleeing their country because their government failed them. Now, our government has failed our values and border laws.
We don’t want open borders, but separating babies and children from mothers and fathers without permanent identification for re-establishing families is unheard of. Hospital identification wristbands would have been easy, simple and low on the budget compared with what happened.
Mothers and fathers would have comforted their children, kept up their hygiene and, most important, they would have been cared for and held.
DNA testing is a sure way to reunite children with their families. We can do this. It’s the right thing to do. Our government gave us the right to vote on our views and choice. The media gave us a venue to express them freely.
