It is impossible for me to process the passing of a great American like Sen. John McCain without thinking about his amazing life of service to our country.
He was a graduate of the Naval Academy, a Navy fighter pilot, prisoner of war, congressman and senator.
He was also a man of great character, integrity, honor, high principles, courage, decency and civility. He was a man who loved his family, the state he served and, above all, the country he defended, loved and served for most of his life.
It says a lot that this great, patriotic American asked that President Donald Trump not attend his funeral. Trump does not deserve to be there, because he is devoid of character, honor, integrity, principles, courage, decency and civility.
