Metro Police have arrested a man they say ordered a woman into a car at gunpoint last month and sexually assaulted her.

Cesar Jimenez, 55, was taken into custody Sept. 11 after he was pulled over for a traffic stop overnight near Bonanza Road and Eastern Avenue and matched the description of the suspect.

On Aug. 26, the female victim was walking about 3 a.m. near South Casino Center Boulevard and East Oakey Boulevard when a black car pulled up next to her, police said. The driver rolled down a window and said something the woman did not hear, so she approached the car, police said.

The man was holding a handgun and ordered her into the car, police said. He drove around the area and eventually stopped near West Oakey Boulevard and Ivanhoe Way, where he sexually assaulted the woman at gunpoint, police said.

The man punched the woman and shoved her out of the car, police said. She ran from the area, spotted a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper and reported the incident, police said.

Jimenez faces charges of sexual assault with use of a deadly weapon, kidnapping and battery.

Anyone with information about this incident, or anyone who may have been a victim of Jimenez, is urged to contact Metro's Sex Crimes Section at 702-828-3421. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 702-385-5555, or on the internet at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
