Celine Dion performed for the first time at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, a theater built just for her, on March 25, 2003. More than 15 years later, the truly iconic Las Vegas Strip headliner has announced her final performance there will come on June 8.

Dion, Caesars Palace and AEG Presents announced the end of her second Colosseum residency, “Celine,” today, with tickets for that final performance and additional 2019 show dates going on sale Friday, September 28.

Dion has performed 1,089 shows to 4.5 million fans at the Colosseum. Her first Strip production, “A New Day,” played from 2003 to 2007 and established the modern Las Vegas residency, a blueprint that eventually brought other superstars including Elton John, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Bruno Mars to the Strip. “Celine” made its debut on March 15, 2011 and returns to the Colosseum October 30 through November 17.

"I definitely have mixed emotions about this final run,” Dion said in today’s announcement. “Las Vegas has become my home and performing at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a big part of my life for the past two decades. It's been an amazing experience and I'm so grateful to all the fans who have come to see us throughout the years. Every show we do throughout this fall, and right up until the final one, will feel very special."

Although Dion was an established global star when she started her Strip gig, her show’s initial success was something of a surprise. She originally signed on for 200 shows per year for three years, and many industry observers thought the deal was too many shows from one artist.

John Meglen, co-CEO of Concerts West/AEG Presents, said in today’s announcement that Dion changed the landscape of entertainment in Las Vegas.

“What an extraordinary part of our lives these shows have been,” he said. “Celine took such a leap of faith, made such a big bet on Las Vegas when she decided to perform ‘A New Day’ all those years ago. What she started, as a crazy idea that didn’t make sense to a lot of people has now become the norm. Now everyone wants to perform a residency in Las Vegas. All of us have Celine to thank for really making Las Vegas the entertainment capital of the world.”

Tickets are currently on sale for the following dates: October 30-31; November 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16 and 17; December 28, 29 and 31; and January 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, 15, 16, 19 and 20. Tickets for the final 28 performances in February, March, May and June are on sale Friday starting at 10 a.m. For more information, visit thecolosseum.com.
