Best Bets: Jennifer Lopez, the Crystal Method, Culture Club and more for your Las Vegas weekend

Jennifer Lopez

Denise Truscello

It’s last call for J.Lo.

It’s a good weekend to dance in Las Vegas. You can do it by the pool at the Hard Rock Hotel. You can do it along with J.Lo at Planet Hollywood. Or you can dance downtown along with some legendary ’80s artists. Find your own personal celebration spot this weekend with these entertainment options.

THE CRYSTAL METHOD Vegas-born electronic act the Crystal Method has pioneered innovative forms of dance music for decades.  With Ken Jordan’s retirement from the music biz, Scott Kirkland has kept the name and the music alive and is releasing a new album, “The Trip Home,” today to coincide with a poolside performance at the Hard Rock Hotel. JENNIFER LOPEZ: ALL I HAVE The triple-threat performer is wrapping up her residency run with 15 shows in 27 days, a powerful statement that should help qualify her as one of the great Vegas headliners. Friday and Saturday are Lopez’s final performances at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood and you may kick yourself if you miss out on her high-energy, all-out show. FRANKIE AVALON The Philadelphia-born singer, actor and quintessential teen idol just celebrated his 78th birthday. Avalon will take audiences back to the good old days for three shows this weekend at the South Point Showroom. September 28-30, info at southpointcasino.com.

CULTURE CLUB When we last checked in on the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, it was hosting the Vegas Golden Knights fan fest. On Saturday night, it’s the place to find 1980s pop sensations Boy George and Culture Club, The B-52s and the Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey. September 29, info at dlvec.com.

VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS VS. SAN JOSE SHARKS Sunday brings the Knights’ final preseason game to T-Mobile Arena before the team’s second season begins October 4 in Las Vegas. If you’ve seen ticket prices for that home opener — and if you’ve noticed how great attendance and the environment has been for other preseason games — you might want to catch this one.
