Quarterback Micah Bowens accounted for three touchdowns tonight for the Bishop Gorman High football team for a 48-7 victory against host Silverado in the Gaels' Southwest League opener.
“The kids looked good today,” Gorman coach Kenny Sanchez said.
Amod Cianelli and Ikaika Ragsdale each rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns for the nine-time defending state champions.
Rome Odunze had two receiving touchdowns.
After dropping three of four games to open the season against out-of-state opponents, Gorman didn’t miss a beat in its return to Las Vegas competition. It hasn’t lost to a Nevada opponent since 2008.
“All the experience should pay off. We'll see down the road,” Sanchez said of the national schedule.
