An attempted robbery suspect gunned down by a central valley jewelry store employee Saturday has been identified as Sir Isley Duncan, according to Metro Police and the Clark County Coroner’s Office. Duncan, 33, died of multiple gunshot wounds, the Coroner’s Office said.

The employee and a customer at the store in the 900 block of Sahara Avenue, near Maryland Parkway, were also wounded in a shootout, according to Metro Police.

Police said the employee was critically wounded, but the Coroner’s Office didn’t have a record of anyone else dying in the incident.

Two armed suspects entered the family-owned store with plans to tie up the employees and customers and rob the store, Metro Lt. Ray Spencer said.

An employee, who was licensed to carry a concealed weapon and was in a back room, came out and a shootout ensued, Spencer said.

The wounded suspect died at the scene, while the two other gunshot victims were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said. It wasn’t clear who shot the customer, who was expected to survive, Spencer said Saturday.

The second suspect fled on foot, but updated details on the case were not available this afternoon.
