North Las Vegas Police make arrest linked to fatal shooting of teen

North Las Vegas Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy Wednesday night.

Police arrested a suspect in the case this morning, but further details, including the person’s name and age, have not yet been released, Officer Aaron Patty said.

The victim, identified today by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as Aneas David King of North Las Vegas, was shot about 5:10 p.m. in the area of Coleman Street and San Miguel Avenue, near Cheyenne High School, police said.

The teen died at University Medical Center, police said.

Police have not released information on a possible motive. The death was the first homicide in North Las Vegas this year, police said.
