Updated Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 | 4:29 p.m.

Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man found in a southeast valley neighborhood, according to Metro Police.

Police received a report about 1:15 p.m. of a possible auto-pedestrian crash in the 3500 block of Brittlewood Avenue, Officer Aden OcampoGomez said.

Officers arrived at the scene, near Pecos Road and Hacienda Avenue, and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, OcampoGomez said. He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

A witness reported hearing loud bangs, while another told police about a “loud commotion,” Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Detectives were trying to determine if the victim, whom police hadn’t identified this afternoon, was shot at the scene or was dropped off there, Spencers said. They were also trying to find possible surveillance video and more witnesses to paint a clearer picture, he said.
