Police: Deaths in car might have been murder-suicide

Updated Wednesday, March 20, 2019 | 2:42 p.m.

A man and woman driving through the east valley this morning died in an apparent murder-suicide, according to Metro Police.

Shiloh Delph, 23, shot the victim and then turned the gun on himself about 2:40 a.m. while traveling on Eastern Avenue, near Hacienda Avenue, police said. It was not clear who was behind the wheel.

A motorist headed in the opposite direction noticed the car go out of control and crash onto a curb, police said.

The other driver called 911 before they went to check on the vehicle's occupants and noticed the windows were shot out and two bodies inside, police said.

Investigators found a gun in the car, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Police determined Delph and the victim were together at a south valley mall before the shooting. Information on the nature of their relationship was not available.
