Fire in parking garage at Las Vegas’ airport damages 7 cars

Seven cars have been damaged after a parking garage fire at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Clark County Fire Department officials say crews responded to the long-term parking area Terminal 3 garage Saturday.

They say the blaze was extinguished in 11 minutes and there was moderate to extensive damage to the seven vehicles.

It’s still unclear what started the fire, but county fire officials say a car engine overheating is a common cause of vehicle fires.

They also note that parking garages are a tight space and when a vehicle catches on fire, it can quickly spread.
