A young victim was slain in a shootout during a drug deal early Saturday in a neighborhood near Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive, according to Metro Police.
The male victim, who was only identified as a juvenile, died in the 6400 block of Casada Way where the shooting was reported about 12:30 a.m., police said. No arrests have been announced.
Police said the victim was partaking in a drug deal when at least two people drew guns and opened fire. “After the victim was struck,” police said Sunday in a news release, “he ran through an apartment complex.”
That’s where he was fired upon a second time and subsequently collapsed behind a building, police said.
Further details were not provided.
